WATERVILLE — Douglas County Commissioner Dane Keane is facing a three-way race to keep his position with more than 1,500 ballots left to count, according to preliminary results from Tuesday's primary elections.
Early results show Walter, England advancing to general election

WENATCHEE — Preliminary election results for Chelan County show Doug England and Deanna Walter will advance to the general election in November to compete for a county commissioner seat.
Flint, Johnson, winning bids for Grant County PUD seat

WENATCHEE — Tom Flint, 59, and Sam Johnson, 56, will face each other in the November election for the Grant County PUD commission seat, according to early election results.
Winthrop fire bond passing, Okanogan fire levy failing

OKANOGAN — Voters in Winthrop decided they were willing to pay for a new fire truck, accoridng to preliminary results from Tuesday's primary election. Nearly 73 percent voted in support of a $366,180 bond issue to replace its current 23-year-old truck, which is considered unsafe because the cab isn't completely enclosed. Just over 27 percent voted no.

TWISP — Flash floods in the Methow Valley on Tuesday dug into the hillsides next to Highway 20 just south of Twisp, sending dirt and rocks across the highway, closing it for about three hours.
